Xpress Imprint invests in PM 52 to boost its print productivity

Xpress Imprint, the Chennai-based company, has invested in a Heidelberg Printmaster to "upgrade the company's service offering".

B Nagi Reddy, the owner of the company first ran a business of providing stationery products for healthcare institutions before deciding to upgrade the company's service offering with commercial print services including the latest offset printing capabilities.

The Printmaster 52-2 offers Xpress the possibility to directly compete with both large offset presses and digital print shops.

Reddy said: "We have to adapt to changing market needs to be successful. As margins deteriorate, customers start migrating to smaller volumes and shorter turnarounds. The Printmaster 52-2 will give us much quicker set-up times and faster job changes, which in turn will significantly reduce material costs and enable us to supply top-quality printing at the very good prices."

Established a decade ago, Xpress handles work primarily printing of posters, leaflets, catalogues, brochures, business stationery and text books and its client-list includes Apollo Hospitals, Vijaya Hospital Group, Coca-Cola, Sab Miller and Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, TataTeleservices, and many SME clients. Xpress has also started to fufill export orders to Canada and Australia.

"We are flexible to client needs and will react with the appropriate resources needed for the client's requirements. We don't sell what we have; we sell what the clients want," said Prasad B, Xpress's general manager.

Xpress's vision is to known for high quality print services company and the latest technological capabilities in digital, offset and screen printing. Besides the Printmaster 52, the company has a Ryobi A3 single-colour, a silk screen printing unit and two cutting machines.

Reddy added: "We are now far more competitive in both turnaround times and pricing, meaning we are able to tend for work that was previously out of contention and our customers will see the benefits."
