The XLIM addition is able to "slim down the output file" for graphically uncomplicated, variable business documents.
"It is for documents such as transactional mail, which have a limited number of graphics," said Ivor Dixon, managing director at Positive Focus which is the UK distributor for XMPie.
He added that Positive Focus currently doesn't have any demonstration versions of the software but is likely to have them "well before Ipex".
XLIM processes the document at an increased rate around 10 to 30 times quicker than other variable information format.
Last year XMPie launched upgraded versions of personalisation software uDirect Standard and uDirect Professional. In September it rolled out uImage.
