In a statement, XMPie’s UK distributor said: “Due to the significant changes in Adobe InDesign CS3, the current XMPie v.3.2 software products are not compatible with the CS3 products, and users are strongly advised not to upgrade desktops that are using XMPie software to any of the CS3 products.”
The firm added that the yet-to-be-released v3.5 of the image personalisation software would be compatible with both CS2 and CS3.
XMPie, which was bought by Xerox for £28m last October, is currently working to ensure that uDirect, uCreate and uCreate-XM are upgraded to support CS3 and that uProduce will be able to support Adobe InDesign Server CS3. In addition, uImage will be upgraded to support Photoshop and Illustrator CS3.
Users who experience problems or consider an upgrade to CS3 in an XMPie environment can contact Positive Focus on 08456 120 246 for advice.
