XenInk Diamond is a CMYK set, which is claimed to give good colour performance, adhesion and durability on rigid and flexible non-porous materials including plastics, glass, and metal foil.

"This performance is available for the first time to third party systems based on many industrial piezo printheads for a range of wide-format and industrial applications," said managing director Alan Hudd. "Diamond has proven printing reliability and minimal need for printhead maintenance."

Xennia launched the XenInk range earlier this year following a £500,000 investment in a 2,000sqm, 500 tonnes per year ink plant opposite its factory in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, UK.

"The ink has been tested in Xaar and Dimatix heads and would also work in Ricoh and Konica Minolta heads, for applications including graphics, narrow web, packaging/label printing and product decoration," said marketing manager Tim Phillips.

The Diamond inks can be used in conjunction with the firm’s Lazurite clear coat/varnish and Moonstone high opacity spot white/undercoat.

"We are currently selling directly but also setting up a distribution network," added Phillips.
