The print head controller electronics and ink supply systems would also produce higher quality and productivity products, the company claimed.
It has appointed technology development company TTP to develop the products, which are to be launched in February.
TTP is Europes largest technology development and licensing company and has a print division that has worked for a wide range of printing equipment suppliers, including Hewlett-Packard and Scitex.
By providing off-the-shelf drive electronics and ink supplies, Xaar anticipates that it will be able to cut six months to a year from product development time.
Xaar believed this would also boost sales at Vivid Print Innovations, its integration division, by making the low-volume and custom ink-jet integration into packaging and converting lines cost-effective.
Xaar turned to TTP to develop the products so its own R&D team could focus on the development of its second-generation technology.
