The Cambridge-headquartered inkjet developer has announced that Ted Wiggans will retire from his role on 9 August 2018.

Wiggans, who is 61, joined Xaar in January 2011. He was previously chief operating officer at Cambridge Semiconductors.

Xaar chief executive Doug Edwards thanked Wiggans for his contribution to the business and said the firm would recruit a replacement, but the new role would be at an executive level rather than board level.

Previously, Edwards also opted not to continue with the board level chief customer officer position that had been held by Richard Barham.

Xaar’s board has been completely reshaped since Edwards joined the business in January 2015.

Xaar’s board is currently comprised of Edwards, chairman Robin Williams, chief financial officer Lily Liu, Wiggans, non-executive directors Andrew Herbert and Chris Morgan, and senior independent director Margaret Rice-Jones.

Separately, Xaar said it planned to expand its Xaar Community resource to a wider audience. The Xaar Community is an online resource of product and technical information that is currently used by nearly 700 printhead customers. Xaar digital marketing specialist Andy Smith said the firm now planned to make it available to end users as well.
