The Surrey-based company is to open its office, which will be dedicated to selling Chili Publish software, in Sydney’s Central Business District in January 2013 and is currently recruiting for one or two members of staff to man the operation. It represents the first Australian presence for the Belgian software provider.
Workflowz, which was launched in March 2010, was appointed sole UK and Ireland distributor for Chili Publish after it was founded shortly afterwards in May the same year.
Following high levels of interest at Drupa, Workflowz managing director Alan Dixon said the company had made its first few sales of the software into the Australian market within the last six months.
Part of a strategic expansion plan for Chili Publish, Dixon said that the firm’s Antipodean representative would offer the same service as is currently provided by the UK base, such as setting up sales meetings, giving demonstrations and providing training and frontline support for Chili Publish clients.
Dixon said that opening the new office had resulted from an increased level of interest in Chili Publish from the Australian and New Zealand markets.
He added: "We anticipate an extremely lucrative market and within two years will expect to be level with what we are doing here for Chili and that will run into the hundreds of thousands."
On its decision to partner with Chili for the expansion Dixon said: "The UK market is not dropping off but we don’t want to place all our eggs in one basket."
Chili Publish director Joeri Paelman said it had chosen Workflowz as its exclusive area distributor because they had worked together since "day one".
He added: "Workflwz have a unique ability to understand business requirements and we support them to get the most out of Chili Publish."
