The B1 specialist is hoping to open operations in Edinburgh and Aberdeen after installing Synapse InSite, Synapse Prepare, a Prinergy workflow and Integris proofing.
Colin Campbell, Woods of Perth director of technology, said: "It might be an office or we may hire some desk space, but the important thing is that we can remotely proof and submit files into the workflow."
He added that the new set-up, which was ordered at Northprint, would allow pre-press managers at the 85-staff firm to remotely check the progress of jobs from home.
The firm is now considering a further investment in a Lotem platesetter with Staccato screening from the Kodak subsidiary.
Woods of Perth chairman Michael Eddington said that the investment would "deliver value in customer relationships as well as quality and efficiency."
