Creo strengthens sales with Lotems

Creo notched up four sales of its Lotem 800 Quantum platesetter and accompanying workflow at Ipex to UK and Irish printers.

Two firms also bought some of the components that are part of its Networked Graphic Production (NGP) concept and Staccato FM screening.

Newcastle-based NB Group bought a Lotem Quantum with Brisque4 workflow, Staccato and an Iris 43Wide imposition proofer from NCS Group. Its order, which will be installed in June, includes Synapse Prepare and Synapse InSite.

"The speed of the Brisque combined with the throughput of the Lotem will dramatically cut our turnaround times," said NB Group managing director Brian Waites. "If you include the time savings from using the Synapse applications production-ready PDF files from our customers and online real-time proofing amendments and sign-off were looking at a major improvement in delivery times and service."

Kilkenny People Printing has become the first printer in Ireland to take a Lotem 800 Quantum, as part of an investment to switch to a fully digital workflow. This includes Synapse Prepare Pro and 10 Synapse Prepare licences to supply files to a Brisque Impose workflow.

Two firms in London have also ordered Lotem 800 Quantum platesetters and will use Staccato FM screening. Mablo Colour of East London has taken a Quantum with five-cassette auto-loader, while Colibri Press Quantum will feed its six B1 Heidelberg Speedmasters, which include a 10-colour perfector.

Netherlands print giant The Giethoorn Group has bought two Lotem 800s and a Lotem 400, which will be driven by three Prinergy workflows. The deal was completed through Creos Dutch reseller WIFAC.
