Williams Lea opens processing centre

Williams Lea has opened a 1.5m specialist document processing centre to handle all the incoming mail for its 140m Prudential account.

The London-based print and facilities management group announced in July that it was looking to establish a production centre in Scotland to handle the Prudential business.

Williams Lea UK managing director Miles Toulson-Clarke said that the centre would expand, with talks underway with a number of its financial services clients.

A second as yet unnamed major UK company is also set to transfer its activities to the Stirling facility.

Lomond View is a 3,716m2 facility based on Prudential's business estate in Craigforth, Stirling. The site, which has space for 300 people, will be home to 120 Williams Lea staff initially.

The specialist centre will scan and index all of the firm's incoming correspondence, before transferring the data to an electronic format for the life insurance and pension provider's customer service teams in the UK and India.
