Menzies Corporate Restructuring partner Jason Godefroy confirmed his company had been appointed to White on 6 October.

"We will be looking very closely at what went on prior to the firm's demise."

Godefroy said he was also aware of the company's parent, Buzwell, and subsequent subsidiaries that had also been wound-up or gone into administration. The aim would be to secure any assets, and the books of White, to try and determine what had gone on, he said.

He understood that monies were outstanding to employees who had been locked out of White's premises prior to its liquidation, and he said these claims would be treated preferentially.
