The Midsomer Norton-based company installed a Schneider Senator 115H S-Line CT from finishing kit supplier Friedheim International.
Initially managing director Paul Hartley had looked at the second-hand market, but he said that the difference in price did not warrant investing in a used machine that "may be battered and beaten".
Due to the work that Westfield produces, the company has to make sure its guillotine is up to scratch.
Hartley said: "When you are dealing with sterile packaging, missing the cut leads to rejects. We are doing a lot of diagonal cuts, our biggest job uses a 45-degree angle, it isn't just simple square and rectangle shapes, it needs to be accurate."
The company handles a vast array of medical packaging, including sterilisation barrier products, which are designed for single use. Its key customers are hospitals and medical device manufacturers. It has a £20m turnover and employs 130 staff.
