Western Corrugated site up for sale

The site of recently-closed Welsh packaging printer Western Corrugated has been put up for sale by the administrator.

Commercial property consultancy GVA Grimley has been instructed by administrator KPMG, which was appointed on 4 January, to seek freehold offers for the Springvale, Cwmbran site.

The premises comprise a 25,000sqm facility on a self-contained low density 16.6-acre site.

The Torfaen district where the site is situated is a Tier One area for Welsh Assembly Grant Assistance and, according to GVA, its proximity to the M4, Newport and Cardiff offers a strong incentive to businesses considering expansion throughout the UK.

Paul Hobbs, from GVA Grimley’s national industrial team, said: "At only five miles from the M4, and 35 miles from Bristol, the site offers a great mix of individual buildings from 1,570-14,000sqm with extensive yard areas.

"While the whole facility works well for distribution or manufacturing uses, we are not precluding breaking the asset up as separate sales. Cwmbran has few opportunities where buildings can be purchased, and we welcome discussions with any interested parties."

Initial, informal offers for the site are invited for early March 2010.
