The People Insight’s Workplace Award is reviewed against extensive benchmarks to recognise organisations with the most engaged employees.
Employee engagement is critical to ensuring positive business outcomes, with highly engaged teams achieving a 20% increase in sales and 21% increase in profitability, according to Gallup, while also contributing to improved productivity.
Richard Boon, managing director at the Bicester-headquartered marketing and print procurement specialist, said: “It’s fantastic to see that our numerous people-first initiatives have been successful, resulting in a working environment which our staff clearly enjoy!
“We’re especially proud of our SEXI scheme [Webmart’s profit share scheme], family days, training budgets, flexible working policies, charitable work and Oxygen Farm, which all hugely contribute to our successful workplace culture.
“Alongside this, we’re also known for our unique office spaces and believe these strongly contribute to building a workplace which encourages innovative ideas and creativity.”
He added: “Whilst these schemes and initiatives have contributed, our score was also significantly influenced by our successful leadership and management styles. Making decisions that have impact, rallying the team around a common strategy and breaking that down so individuals can see how they can play their part in the bigger plan.
“We’re so proud of scoring in the top quartile of businesses in the most recent survey, and look forward to topping our score next year.”
Webmart also saw recent success at the National SME Awards, where it won Silver in the ‘Business of the Year with Fewer than 50 Employees’ category.
Last month the company became the latest of a small pool of industry names to be B Corporation certified, while recent recruit Kelly O'Sullivan started in her new role.
