The investment in the 175,000 single-sided machine will enable Vision to bring laminating in-house for the first time. It is the final part of the Drighlington, Leeds firm's post-press upgrade which has included a Polar guillotine, two Heidelberg Stahlfolders and Stitchmaster 350, all of which were installed last Autumn.
According to Vision managing director Jason Clay: "We chose the Centurion 2 because it's the fastest, largest, most durable laminator on the market.
The sheetfed unit, supplied by GBC Films, can handle formats up to 1,020x1,200mm at speeds of 4,000sph. Three members of staff are currently being trained on the machine, which is set to be installed at the end of January.
