The company, which is part of Acco Brands Corporation, will give live demonstrations of products including the GBC 620os and GBC 5031 laminating systems for the digital print-on-demand market.

Arnout Janssen, marketing director for GBC Commercial Laminating Solutions, said: "In the industry we work for, speed is of the essence. As the turnaround times remain under constant pressure, more and more printers are taking the finishing process in-house. For finishers, the time pressure is even higher."

Janssen added that GBC's equipment offered scuff-free and lay-flat films, which was particularly important for design clients.

The GBC 620os is an entry-level machine that offers single-sided laminating, covering a wide range of applications such as the production of book covers, dust jackets, as well as sheeted gift cards, postcards and business cards. The maximum speed of 15m per minute and a maximum sheet size of 52x74cm, makes it suited for short runs from digital and offset.

The GBC 5031 TS laminating system offers two-sided lamination. It combines the 5031 TS Laminator, the 5031 Feeder and the 5031 Cutter, which can be handled by a single operator.

The GBC 3052 laminating system operates at an extended speed of up to 30m per minute, covering a maximum working width of 52x74 cm. With its ability to change stock, size and film rapidly, the GBC 3052 improves the efficiency on the production line and is said to be a speedy, user-friendly and cost-effective solution.

At Drupa, GBC will also demonstrate the entry-level GBC 1064 WFt and the GBC 3064 WF for semi-professionals as well as show the new films and consumables for the wide-format printing market.
