The UK’s national organisation responsible for research into and delivery of sustainable fusion energy – a long-held dream of many atomic scientists – has seen its print services wing streamline time consuming hand-performed processes with the installation.
Fitted with integrated Plockmatic 500 bookletmaker and rotate/cut/trim unit, the Pro C7500 toner printer has helped the agency slash turnaround times and free up time for design work.
It has replaced a Pro C7200 toner printer at the agency.
Stuart Morris, UKAEA print manager, said adding workflow automation had been particularly helpful.
He told Printweek: “[The installation] helped streamline what were previously time consuming manual processes, and has helped us improve print turnaround, and has freed up valuable creative time.”
The inline bookletmaker, with three-knife trimming, has allowed the agency to produce square-fold, fully trimmed booklets. A Duplo DC618 cutter-creaser, also fitted inline, has likewise made it possible to produce full-bleed leaflets, flyers and business cards for the agency, all in-house, helping to control print costs and increase the agency’s range of creative possibilities.
Ian Taylor, production print specialist at Ricoh UK, said: “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with UK Atomic Energy Authority.
“Integrating the Plockmatic and Duplo finishing devices with the Ricoh Pro C7500 will not only enhance print quality but also drive automation and deliver a wide range of benefits for the customer, enhancing operational efficiencies and ensuring higher quality output for the customer.”
