Troika Systems plans to introduce a complete RIP provider, called SwiftPrint, which can output to a host of end units across the printing spectrum.
Managing director Phil Hall said the beauty of the system was that users could output to a variety of different devices without changing the RIP for each one.
Developed with German pre-press firm Storm, with the software provided by CPR Technologies, SwiftPrint is set for a UK launch in September at Print UK. The first user contract has been signed in Germany through a Canon distributor. Four sites in Germany are testing the system.
The end-user price will be approximately 7,500, and as SwiftPrint sales and usage grow, Troika will look at setting up separate business units in the UK and Europe.
Meanwhile, Taylor Bloxham in Leicester has ordered a SpinJet 1000 proofing package from Troika in a bid to provide about 80% of its customer base with a proofing service of imposition and contract colour proofs.
The company plans to use SpinJet as a production tool driven by Heidelbergs Prinergy workflow to primarily check RIP data.
