Mailing and Mechanisation’s equipment ranges from feeders through to complex mailing systems and custom-builds paper management systems to meet specific customer requirements.
The company is run by a group of engineers who will be retained as part of the team. This includes founder Dave Kolb, who will remain for a significant time to permit a smooth handover to the new management. Kolb will continue to be available in a consultancy role in the future.
Totalpost managing director David Hymers, who led the deal, said: “We are pleased that this highly respected company has joined the Totalpost group, although they will continue to trade under the powerful brand of Mailing and Mechanisation.
“Its approach of high-quality manufacturing and working to the needs of the customer fits extremely well with Totalpost’s ethos of providing best of breed equipment coupled with exceptional customer service.
“The acquisition of this business will allow us to expand our already successful mailroom service incorporating mail preparation and handling. This deal is part of major growth plans that we have for the business and is a great start to 2015.”
Meanwhile, Totalpost has also just become the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor of Muller flexible paper handling devices, including inserters and paper processing systems.
This partnership, which came about as a development of a previous business relationship between Muller and Mail & Mechanisation, will enable Totalpost to provide its customers with a more comprehensive range of document and mail handling automation products.
Hymers remarked: “We are delighted to add the Muller range of flexible paper management solutions to our product range and I am excited about the new opportunities that this will bring to customers of both Totalpost and Mailing and Mechanisation.”
