TJ uses JDF for press and MIS integration

TJ International has integrated its Heidelberg presses with its i-teba SolPrint Management Information System using JDF.

The firm, crowned Printweek's Printing Company of the Year last week, has started a "roll-out" programme and pilot-tested one of the presses in the past few weeks.

"It's early days, but testing has proved very successful and we are pleased with the results," said TJ International chief executive Angus Clark.

Implementation at the Cornish firm started in May 2004, and is ongoing. "We are now seeking to integrate JDF into other areas, such as pre-press and bindery," said i-teba managing director Peter Griffin.

The JDF module allows job details to be sent directly to the press, captured, and fed into SolPrint without the need for human intervention.

TJ International IT manager Neil Boucher said: "SolPrint has given us immediate benefits and our departments have found that the software is meeting its requirements."
