Supplied by Roberts Graphics, the folder cost just under £40,000 and was installed at the Liverpool-based firm’s site on Saturday (24 November). It will run alongside Manroland litho and Ricoh digital presses and has replaced an MBO B30 folder, which the company has sold on privately.
Director Mario Spatuzzi said: “Our MBO B30 was not always able to handle the volumes we needed so we decided to look around for an alternative. We needed something that could complete the volumes.”
The AFC-566 has a maximum run speed of 42,000cph with a maximum sheet size of 558x850mm and can fold stocks up to 244gsm.
“Waste is kept to a minimum which falls in line with our current environmental statement,” said Spatuzzi.
“It is so easy to set up anyone can use it and it will work alongside our auto creases, stitchers, laminators and cutters.”
He added: “We know and trust Horizon and Roberts Graphics. The folder has been running constantly since it went in. It is doing what we need it to.”
