Employees and union representatives are currently in negotiations over proposed job losses, which will come into force in October.
A spokeswoman for Tesco said the Milton Keynes-based print unit, which employs 100 staff, would still remain open to handle a number of tasks including logistics.
However, she said the way the print centre would operate would now involve the use of external suppliers.
The biggest area affected by the cuts will be the printing operation, which mainly produces point-of-sale material for Tesco stores.
