The equipment was installed at the Telford, Shropshire-based firm’s recently extended premises during March and April. 

The purpose-built facility has been expanded from 325sqm to 465sqm to accommodate the new machinery and create staffroom facilities.

The three 60ppm C1060s have joined an existing C1060, taking the firm’s fleet up to four. They have replaced three Konica Minolta Bizhub Pro C6501s.

An exclusive Konica Minolta house for the past five years, the firm also looked at alternatives from Ricoh, Canon and Xerox but decided that Konica Minolta still suited its needs best.

Managing director Peter Llewellyn said: “We’ve now got four C1060s in a line. Because we’re in the on-demand print market we prefer to have lots of machines in a line as opposed to one huge machine because if one goes down we’ve still got three.

“We find them to be extremely reliable, the quality is good and the back-up from Konica Minolta is very good.”

The two Duplo devices are a 3,000bph DBM-150 bookletmaker, which replaced a DBM-120, and a DSF-2200 sheet feeder.

“These machines have increased our productivity by at least 20%. We’ve been able to match the production capabilities of each process so that it flows through and the finishing can keep up with the printing,” said Llewellyn.

The business also operates Epson wide-format devices, which it uses to produce POS, exhibition material, banners and displays.

Telford Reprographics was established as a copy shop and plan printing specialist in 1994. It now has a turnover of £750,000 and employs 10 staff plus two apprentices, who were taken on last September.

The business, which also has an in-house design studio, serves a wide range of customers across the UK and internationally.
