Some Telegraph readers in Scotland, Ireland and northern England went without a copy of their daily issue after a fire on one of Trafford Park Printers Goss HT60s held up production.
Trafford Park Printers production manager Ron Slater said: "We had to evacuate the building for an hour, but the Fire Brigade brought it under control in pretty good time."
Slater said that after the fire had been extinguished, production was diverted to the firms other three Goss presses, as well as sister plant West Ferry.
"It was restricted to the folder section, which was quite lucky. Our electricians and engineers are having a look at it, but we dont know when itll be back on-stream," he said.
A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Fire Brigade said: "We were called to a fire in a printing press on the ground floor of the machine hall. We believe it was caused by an electrical fault."
She added that five appliances were sent to the scene, not due to seriousness of the fire, but as a precautionary measure.
Trafford Park Printers is scheduled to receive two Heidelberg Mainstream presses later this year as part of the Telegraphs massive order at Drupa.
Both presses will feature the 10-tower and four-tower combination and the order also includes 52 FD pasters and seven JF-255 jaw folders.
