Teaching title seeks printer

John Brown Citrus Publishing (JBCP) is hunting for a printer for Teachers magazine, which it has won the contract to publish.

The printer has yet to be confirmed. Its current supplier is Southernprint. Blaze Creative has been confirmed as the repro supplier. Teachers is produced for the Department for Education and Skills (DFES) and has a print run of 300,000.

JBCP won the contract after a pitch that included former publisher Redwood. "This is an exciting new magazine for JBCP as it represents our first success with a Government department," said JBCP group production director  Darrel Crowley.

In 2003 JBCP secured the contract to produce JD Sports' title Tred but opted for an Italian printer because its preferred supplier had no spare capacity (PrintWeek, 23 November 2003).
