"Some research into state-of-the-art in colour management technology 12 months ago first brought ColorLogic to my attention," said Targetcolour managing director Niall Coady.
The partners are launching three products, marketed in the UK by Targetcolour as MPX 360 Colourserver, MPX 360 DL Profiler and MPX 360 PlugIn.
Coady said that the combination of ColorLogic's colour transformation technology and Targetcolour's profiling and press characterisation would produce superior results. He added that one of the most powerful features of MPX Colourserver 360 was its support for multicolour separations of up to 16 channels in a PDF workflow.
"This is a key technology feature," Coady said. "It is of interest to every packaging and greetings card printer. It also moves us into digital and wide-format print where we can support multicolour printers such as the Canon 12-colour imagePrograf."
According to Coady, ColorLogic's algorithms produced superior RGB-to-CMYK conversions than other tools. "This consigns advanced colour retouching to the dustbin because of the way it preserves colour purity," he said.
MPX 360 Colourserver is compatible with Enfocus PowerSwitch workflow automation technology, making it possible to create a powerful workflow with PDF pre-flighting and image enhancement technologies.
ColorLogic's technology is based on standard ICC profiles, but has advanced colour processing that preserves channel purity and dynamic range, and gamut compression, Coady added.
