The company said that with many more people using their home technology and broadband for internet access during the coronavirus situation, email attachment size constraints can prove problematic when using email for proofing.
“Also, many home-workers will not have the same IT infrastructure available to them at home that they would have had from server based tools in the office,” the company added.
It said Approval Pipeline, in its basic form, acts as a secure file transfer site that does not need any software loading locally, so can be easily accessed by anyone anywhere as long as they have a log in.
It incorporates a secure file upload feature with no limit to file size, incorporating 256-bit encryption.
“Launched in 2016, we have over 500 organisations accessing the software across multiple printer users. Version 5 just released takes feedback from these users and has added much improved features,” Systematic Marketing director Russell Weetch told Printweek.
He added the GDPR compliant and secure software also helps users by offering improved management control, an audit trail for resolving disputes, and a multi-page feature that allows individual rejected pages to be resubmitted for approval, rather than all previously approved pages.
To help printers to streamline file transfer and approval issues during this period, with immediate effect the business said it is offering the use of Approval Pipeline free-of-charge until the government lifts all social distancing guidelines and workers return to normal operation procedures.
Any current users of the software will receive a payment holiday on their monthly subscriptions, with fees returning once the crisis is over. Printers using the software during this period, meanwhile, will be under no obligation to retain it once things return to normal.
“We are totally committed to supporting the wider community during this challenging period and are helping businesses to utilise technology that ensures business continuity,” the company added.
Printers wishing to access the free software can contact: info@smxi.com, stating AP-FOC in the email subject field.
