The south-east London printer, which only uses Heidelberg equipment, also bought a Technotrans automatic inking system and plans to buy an eight-colour DI within 12 months. It is in discussions with Heidelberg about its development.
The new press is expected to increase the companys turnover from 1.2m to 2m. The firm prints report and accounts and corporate brochures for the design agency sector.
Joint director Rob Phillips said: "We knew that we wanted a Heidelberg press, so it was just a case of deciding which one best suited our needs. There are lots of last-minute changes in the reports sector, so this DI will allow us to cost-effectively proof on press. Its in a league of its own."
The investment will reduce makeready times for SV.Two, which has a full order book for the next two months. Accuracy of colour and the option of linking pre-press and press were also key.
Heidelberg has also supplied an ICC-profiled colour-calibrated digital proofing system alongside the press.
