"With the new investment, we have upgraded our press and post-press armoury," said Sunil Guglani, managing director at Super Multicolor. "The equipment that we have purchased will bring effective and efficient production besides quality print."
Super Multicolour operates from two locations – Chandigarh and Baddi. The Chandigarh unit is dedicated to commercial printing and printing of mobile cards, sticker, gum labels and packaging material while the Baddi unit is dedicated to label, packaging, gravure, corrugation, lamitube and tin printing and publishing.
Besides the new Heidelberg, Gallus and Bobst machinery installed at the Baddi unit, the two units are equipped with a raft of other offset, rotogravure and label presses; pasting machine with lock bottom; digital programmable cutting machines; 12-station gathering machine for side binding and other machines for UV coating, binding, stitching, perforating and numbering machines.
The firm is also equipped with an in-house design team of more than ten designers, CTP from FFEI.
The family-owned business was started by Guglani in 1987 and he is assisted by his son Suhel, who manages the production and marketing operations.
"Our work and volume is increasing and we are expecting a bulge in both the domestic and export market for print and packaging in the next few years," said Guglani.
Super Multicolor is now targeting the export market and have embarked on setting up a new quality control (QC) lab and ink kitchen.
"With this new initiative we are underlining our commitment to quality and consistency," concluded Guglani.
