Stationers to debate the use of reels in sheetfed printing

In response to the UK's growing list of printers using long-perfectors with inline sheeters, The Freemen of the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers is to hold a technical briefing on the use of paper reels.

A Reel Sheet! will aim to discuss and debate the technical implications raised by using reels of paper that have been originally manufactured for web printing, which are then cut to be printed sheetfed.

The debate will look at the various issues raised by printers, paper producers, equipment manufacturers and publishers.

Speakers will include representatives from Stora Enso, KBA and the Buxton Press, along with guests from the world of publishing.

The briefing will be held from 6pm on 12 September at Stationers' Hall in London, with tickets priced at 15 each.
