The proposition for the debate is ‘Online tools will cut out many in-house print buyers and print management companies to the advantage of printers through process efficiencies, transparency and the creation of a level playing field’.
Organiser of the event Martin Bloomfield, global procurement director, Reed Business Information, said: “The proliferation of print management companies has squeezed out both print buyers’ jobs and printers’ margins, but do they add value?”
“This provides a great opportunity to both network and join in a topical debate around an area of change
that so many print buyers, print management companies, tool providers and printers face today,” Bloomfield added.
The debate will be held on 29 September, with a 6pm for 6.30pm start, at Stationers’ Hall, Ave Maria Lane, London. Tickets for the event, which ends at 8pm, cost £15 and include refreshments.
Bloomfield is currently finalising the speaker line-up and looking for speakers to represent print buyers, printers, print management companies and procurement technology providers at the event.
Anyone who is interested in taking part in the event or wishing to obtain tickets should email Bloomfield on martingrbloomfield@hotmail.co.uk.
PrintWeek and its sister title PrintBuyer are media partners for the event, which will also include a potted history of the rise of print management by executive editor Barney Cox.
