The Rushden, Northamptonshire-based business has installed the machine, which is a badged Ricoh printer, to enable it to bring its digital printing services in-house.
According to Stanley L Hunt Printers managing director Linda Watts, the Linoprint machine meets the company's growing demand for digitally-printed short run work.
She said: "We already have B1 to B3 presses, a studio with CtP, comprehensive binding facilities, storage and distribution here.
"However, we have seen that there is a demand for short-run quality work and digital printing, without the additional cost of platemaking, providing a price competitive option. We want the flexibility to offer our clients the broadest package."
The 96-year-old business, which serves a range of clients including charities and local firms, also operates a range of litho presses that include a six-colour B2 Heidelberg Speedmaster SM74 and a two-colour 102 perfector.
When it came to making its maiden digital press investment, Watts said remaining with Heidelberg was an easy decision to make.
"We trust Heidelberg intrinsically. The pressroom manager is very pleased with the Linoprint and already we have used it in conjunction with our litho presses," she added.
