The group is currently in discussions with its workforce about the move.
Roche already runs a 30-station Corona. "From a production standpoint it's better to have the two together, as we can achieve better utilisation," said group managing director Brian Edwards.
Edwards declined to comment specifically on reports that Caerphilly will be shut for a week in June. "We do shut down capacity at some of our plants around the holiday periods," he said.
Meanwhile, the web division manufacturing director vacancy created by the departure of Roy Kingston to Wyndeham has been filled by Jon Roberts, formerly general manager at Roche. The Roche role has been taken over by Andy Watts, previously general manager at Andover, and he in turn has been replaced at Andover by Peterborough customer service manager Kevin Mitchell. Andrew Redhead moves from key account manager at St Ives' London HQ to Mitchell's former role at Peterborough.
New web division sales director Tony Ayles will join on 19 April, after the expiration of his Southernprint contract.
St Ives shuffle in web division
Up to 18 jobs could go at St Ives Caerphilly because the plants Corona perfect binder is being relocated to Roche, where some new jobs will be created.
