The SMP Strategic Mail Performance Awards are set to return next month, with the deadline for entries set for later this week.

Mailing houses, printers, print managers, or agencies are eligible to enter the 2024 awards scheme for free and the winners will be announced at an event on 26 September at The Steel Yard, London. The awards are open to all SMP members; if a business is not already a member, they can sign up to become one for free and submit an entry.

Entries can be made via the SMP website and the deadline is Friday (23 August).

The awards evening will be hosted by UK comedian Ellie Taylor, who will present the Golden and Platinum Envelope Awards in between entertaining guests.

Other awards include the SMP Bright Futures Award, open to entrants under the age of 30; the SMP Performance Award; and the Sustainable Campaign Award.

Lucy Swanston, SMP chair, managing director of Nutshell Creative, and a judge for the awards, said: “The Strategic Mail Performance Awards not only aim to celebrate exceptional work within our industry, they also shine a bright light on the excellence of our sector’s products, services and creative solutions direct to brands and the wider marketing industry. “The awards generate a wealth of rich case studies that the SMP use as inspirational examples that prove the effectiveness and value of mail as a marketing and communications channel.”

Entries can cover business mail, advertising mail, door drop, or partially addressed mailings and can be B2B or B2C focused.

SMP members and non-members that are either a mailing house/producer, printer, agency, or print manager qualify for a free ticket to the awards via this link. Non-members that fall into this category will automatically become an SMP member.

Suppliers to the mailing industry who are not either a sponsor or a mailing house/producer, printer, agency, or print manager do not qualify for a free ticket and will be charged £300 plus VAT per ticket.
