ShortList Media tests evening slots for free weekly titles

ShortList Media is to change its distribution to target commuters on their way home with its free weekly magazines.

Aiming to take advantage of the gap in the evening market opened up by the demise of freesheets London Lite and thelondonpaper, Stylist and ShortList magazines will have a split distribution where some copies are handed out on the Tuesday and Wednesday evenings respectively ahead of the normal distribution dates.

Managing director Karl Marsden described the idea as an "early bird preview" that would involve "tens, not hundreds of thousands of copies" and would not affect the print run.

ShortList magazine currently has a circulation of 500,000 and is printed by Prinovis, but will move to Polestar next year. Stylist magazine has 410,000 and is printed by Polestar.
