Book specialist White Quill Repro has installed a second Screen FlatRite 1050 B2 platesetter together with another TaigaSPACE workstation to cope with increased demand.
The eight-man company is part of the Fulmar group and was set up three years ago to produce the plates and repro work for White Quill Press.
White Quill Repro manager Jamie Stanborough said: Its perfect for our needs. The pressroom has six Speedmaster 74s and they take a bit of feeding. Its really simple to operate, being a flatbed theres no bending involved.
He added that the 1050s were regularly left with 50 plates each to run overnight.
With the second FlatRite, not only do we have the extra capacity to meet growing demand, but we also have the security of back-up facilities, said Stanborough.
The FlatRite 1050s image around 2,000 Agfa LithoStar Plus plates per month a figure that has been increasing since the formation of Fulmars paperback book production operation BookMarque.
