Screen PlateRite proves a hit

Screen is racking up sales of its PlateRite 8000 B1+ CTP system.

The system has been installed by Blenheim Colour in Oxfordshire, and at Trumps in Hertfordshire.

"The installation means printers save on cost and at the printing stage it means cleaner plates, less planning time, and a higher quality of finished plate," said John Jago, deputy managing director of Blenheim Colour.

The company, based at Eynsham near Oxford, undertakes design work, scanning and typesetting for the publishing trade.

The PlateRite 8000 is producing over 1,000 plates a month, enabling growth in the book production sector of the market.

Hertfordshire-based design and print company Trumps has also installed a PlateRite 8000 system alongside a Screen Czanne Elite scanner. With 40 plates imaged per day, the machine has increased productivity at the firm, which plans on installing another two-colour press next month.

"We have used Screen equipment for a long time and never, ever had a problem," said managing director Geoff Cash. "Clients can e-mail or fax a brief through in the morning and by the end of the day the job can be designed, proofed, plated, printed and despatched."
