The cuts at the Raheen estate facility, which employs 477 people, are due to take place through a phased programme over the next nine months.
It has been reported that Dell, which was one of the print giant's main clients, has said it is moving out of the Limerick area with the loss of 1,900 positions.
RR Donnelley said that while it has tried to avoid the need for redundancies, the move was necessitated by "customers' shifts in strategic direction and in consequence of global economic conditions".
The company claimed it would offer employees a comprehensive redundancy package in addition to advice services.
RR Donnelley's Global Turnkey Solutions offers business process outsourcing services. Its offering includes inventory management, fulfilment and distribution.
