The full squad – 26 players – gathered for the ceremony on 14 November before they flew to Qatar to attempt to win the World Cup for the first time in 56 years.
Each of the personalised boxes contained the player’s shirt, a message from manager Gareth Southgate, and information on the heritage of the shirt number, detailing the players who had sported it previously.
The boxes, custom designed and cut on a Kongsberg X24 table and AG CAD Kasemake KM503, had personalised outer and inner lids fastened with hidden magnets. The wraps for each were printed on one of Pureprint’s HP Indigos onto Amadeus Silk from Denmaur Paper, and covered in an anti-scuff laminate to ensure longevity.
The outer jacket wrap was then blocked in FoilCo silver foil on a Heidelberg SBS foiler.
Mark Handford, CEO of Pureprint, said: “It was a pleasure to create something that holds so much significance for the Three Lions.
“We wish the team every success.”
Pureprint employs over 400 at its three sites in London and Sussex, producing corporate, retail, creative and fine art print, and has made a number of recent investments, totalling over £20m in the last five years.
