Warren Thomas started with Ronset for a two-week work experience in July and is now three weeks into his new role as print apprentice.
Ronset commercial director Chris Durham said the company had been trying to introduce apprenticeships for some time but it had taken a long time to find someone who was the right fit for the job.
“Ronset’s continued growth strategy has to include apprenticeships, we are a firm believer in building for the future and what better way than recruiting the likes of Warren,” Durham said.
He added that Thomas brought up-to-date IT expertise, that the business would also benefit from: “We are learning from him, his IT skills outshine many of the staff here, me included. His attributes are what we, as a company, are looking for.”
The family-run firm founded by Ronald Farnworth in 1962 now specialises in large-format print, boards and banners, leaflets, booklets, promotional materials, sign printing and stationery.
Production manager Jason Broomfield said: “Warren has been a credit to himself from day one; he is polite, shows initiative [and] works hard.”
