US materials handling specialist Roll Systems unveiled its updated range of book manufacturing solutions at the On Demand show in New York last week.
The new solutions included a BookMaster CS roll-to-sheet system, which produced two-up A5 book signatures in conjunction with a Xerox DocuTech. The system features inline slitter and stacker, eliminating the need for offline guillotining.
A5 is the predominant size for books and the DocuTech is not designed to do A5, explained vice president of marketing Jules Fried. Also if you start on a roll you can run for 10, 12, 14 hours.
Also on display was the Color Roll-to-Cutter/Trim-mer/Stacker (CTS), designed for use with Xeikon-based colour digital presses. With versions available for both 30in and 50in engines, the CTS enables production of full-bleed sheets inline.
For continuous mono printers, a roll-to-sheet system supporting three-up signature production was shown, as well as the Dual Hole Punch for the punching of two-across output.
Rolls products are distributed in the UK by Duplo, and all new products are available immediately.
