Roland DG bags 'Product of the Year' award

Roland DG has triumphed at the SGIA Expo after picking up the 2008 DPI Product of the Year accolade for its recently-released 30in VersaUV LEC-300 UV printer.

The company scooped the award in the Output Device Poster Category for what is claimed to be the world's first UV inkjet printer and cutter.

The 30in machine can print CMYK, white and clear coat, can output onto a variety of substrates and can produce different printed textures such as crocodile skin and faux leather.

Yohei Shinomura, colour product manager at Roland DG, said: "As the industry's newest UV inkjet device, the VersaUV LEC-300 combines a new generation of LED-curable inks with renowned Roland Print&Cut technology for unmatched quality and versatility."
