RCS buys guillotine to overcome bottleneck

Commercial printer RCS has increased the productivity of its large-format finishing department with a Polar 176X from Heidelberg.

The Retford-based company said that growing volumes of point-of-sale and free-standing display work were causing problems.

Managing director Michael Todd said: "There was an increase in large-format work and we had a bottleneck in the guillotining area."

RCS’s guillotine is equipped with a computerised system that enables the operator to pre-set work and reduce set-up times.

As well as wide-format work, RCS undertakes envelope printing, beermats, folders, fridge magnets and paper carrier bags.
