The Nottinghamshire B1 print company has now completed the installation of its new five-colour Rapida 162a with coater.
"It's feature-rich with end-to-end quality assurance and automated setting systems," the company said. "The kit can print sheet sizes up to 1,620x1,200mm."
RCS went for the larger-format press to expand its trade-print service. The £3m programme included extending its base in Retford.
Managing director Michael Todd said: "We can serve new markets and customers, such as screen printers who find full colour slow and expensive.
"Our machine is faster and has lower setup costs than conventional full-colour screen printing. Customers are under more pressure to turn work around quickly."
Todd added: "We are also targeting smaller-format litho printers with limited demand for larger sizes, as well as our existing customer base."
He said rival kit was relatively untested or, where proven, support could not match KBA's. He bought a KBA 105 two years ago and was sold on the tech and support.
Christian Knapp, managing director of KBA UK, said: "The future lies in larger formats where economies can be realised and printers' competitive performance improved."
