Quickcut designs tool for ad placement info

Ad delivery firm Quickcut has launched the publishing industrys first package that embeds advertising placement information into artwork as it is created.

The Irish Times has become the first publication to sign up to Quickcut Forward Advice System (FAS), which creates a job ticket that includes both booking data and a design template.

The software, which will go live at the Dublin-based newspaper in the coming weeks, ensures jobs are the correct size and format, as well as being submitted to the title with the right booking data.

The London-based firm, which is currently expanding in Europe, claims that FAS will cut potential human errors and save time in re-keying booking information for each file.

Joe Jarrett (pictured), Quickcut chief executive, said the tool would "streamline communication between publisher or printing, agency and designer. This system effectively closes the gap by tightly linking booked space with artwork."
