Based in Uckfield, Sussex, the firm serves a base of local businesses with a variety of printing requirements, usually based around promotional materials.
The roll-to-roll, 1.2m-wide DesignJet was selected by owner Robbie Cannon for the range of jobs it can undertake.
“Demand for things like banners at local functions, or posters for local businesses and restaurants was getting to silly levels, so we had to expand our offering to accommodate.
“Our main remit is as a quick-stop shop with turnaround on our usual short-run jobs complete within the same day mostly. We do bigger jobs, but those short runs make up most of our business and we have completed a lot of weird and wonderful jobs off the cuff."
The DesignJet was supplied by Welwyn Garden City-based reseller Smart Print in early January. It joined Quarry’s two Xerox Versant 80 digital printers and a variety of finishing equipment including laminators and perfect binders at its 600sqm premises.
Cannon described the four-year old business as “hyper-local”, but is hoping to see his firm expand its horizons with the launch of a new website this spring.
Quarry Print’s two full-time staff are Cannon and his wife Sarah, who are supported by two part-time employees.
