The machines, which were bought from City and West End Solutions (CWE), were installed at the London-based printer’s premises earlier this week and are already up and running.
They have replaced two HP Designjet Z6100s, which CWE offered the firm a part exchange deal for.
“The Z6200s will give us higher quality and greater efficiency than the Z6100s as they’re quicker and we won’t have to deal with the problems that we had with the ageing machines,” said operations director Lee Deeks.
“We’ve been using HP machines for coming up to 10 years now. We know the machines well so we saw no reason to change; they’re superb quality, easy to use and provide us with consistency.”
The investment is the latest in a line of recent purchases by the firm, which has overhauled its pressroom in the past year with a total spend of over £150,000 on new kit.
“We installed an HP Designjet T7100 about 10 months ago. It has the same menu as the Z6200s, which has made it easy to get to grips quickly with the new machines,” said Deeks.
“We switched from Xerox DocuColors, a 5000 and an 8000, to a Ricoh Pro 901 and C5100s at the end of February. And about three weeks ago we installed a Uchida U-Coater foiling machine, which we first saw at Ipex.”
The firm, which has 14 staff and a turnover of £1.4m, serves a wide range of customers in the architecture, engineering & contruction sector; advertising; fashion; and financial industries, as well as museums and institutes.
