The 10,000th sale laurel was attained after winning a deal to install register guidance and ribbon control technology on a new high-performance press at the Germany headquarters of Mohn media Mohndruck GmbH, a multinational commercial printing operation.
The MultiCam camera is designed with a 640 x 480 pixel sensor to handle marks as small as 0.36 mm. Operating at a speed of 3,500 ft/min, the camera can make up to 30 register mark searches per second. The LED lighting claims to ensure long life and low maintenance.
"The remarkable features of MultiCam cameras have gained popularity in the Indian print industry with leading newspaper and commercial offset presses together installing over 1,700 MultiCam cameras. Additionally, almost all Indian national English and regional daily newspapers have incorporated the QuadTech register control system on their presses, Times of India, Jagran, Hindu, Hindustan Times, Indian Express, Deccan Chronicle, Sakshi, Dinakaran, Dinamalar, Matrubhumi, Panjab Kesari, Sakal and Lokmat being only a few to name," said Hemant Desai, general manager at QuadTech, a subsidiary of Quad/Graphics.
"For QuadTech colour register control systems for gravure packaging presses, India leads the pack with 1,600 sensors/channels installations across 200 presses." added Desai.
