The machine, which replaces one of the group's existing Speedmaster CD 102 presses, is part of a continued investment in new technology that has totaled £5m over the past three years.
Pureprint will run the press alcohol free and is aiming to couple high print quality with an increased focus on cutting job turnaround times.
The Speedmaster XL 105 can print at up to 18,000sph and also features Heidelberg's
Image Control colour measurement system.
Mark Handford, chief executive of Pureprint Group, said that it was necessary to invest in new equipment in spite of the adverse conditions facing the print industry.
"Regardless, it was important for us to continue upgrading our press facilities to enhance productivity and ensure that our customer base consistently receives the best print quality and service," he said.
Last month, Pureprint was one of six printers awarded part of a £1.2m contract by English Heritage.
