Pureprint Group targets digital increase with 1.3m spend

Pureprint Group is hoping to continue the rapid expansion of its digital division with a 1.3m investment in two HP Indigo 7500 presses.

The first machine will replace an aging HP Indigo, however, the second will be used to increase digital capacity at the Uckfield, East Sussex, plant.

Pureprint's presses will be supplied within the HP Indichrome Ink Mixing System, enabling the company to achieve a wide gamut of Pantone colours, as well as offering a white ink option.

According to technical director Aaron Archer, Pureprint's digital printing volumes have increased by 400% year-on-year, which translates to 10-15% of the group’s turnover.

He said: "The HP Indigo 7500 digital press offers higher productivity, greater colour consistency and the ability to print on litho substrates."

The HP Indigo 7500, which was launched at Ipex, can print up to 120 four-colour A4 pages per minute. The press can handle a wide range of substrates from 60gsm through to 350gsm in standard configuration.

The Pureprint installations will feature a thick substrate kit, extending the company's ability to print on up to 400gsm substrates.
